In a message on the occasion of the World Space Week on Monday, Zarepour gave an outline of Iran’s huge contribution to astronomy and space science during past centuries, saying that Iranians should have the same level of contribution today.
He said that endeavors by Iranian scientist have led to elevation of Iran’s global ranking in space science and technology, so the country has reached 11th place in 2017 from 45 in 1996.
The communications minister also pointed to Iranian space scientists’ competence which led to the design and construction of Omid satellite and Safir space launch vehicle in 2008.
